Today in Singapore, we want to celebrate all nurses who have gone a long way in healing patients’ souls and for their endless contribution during these tough times.

Unlike other countries in the world that celebrate Nurses Day on the 12th of May, Singapore celebrates Nurses Day on the 1st of August. Prior to 1885, Singapore’s healthcare quality was poor.  It was on 1st of August that year, when the process of developing Nursing quality was launched.

There’s a saying “Nurses are the Heart of Healthcare.”.  Here in Diaverum Singapore, our nurses are the heart of our purposeful culture of True Care. By delivering excellent care to our patients, it truly empowers them to live the fulfilling life that they deserve.

Over the past 2 years, the pandemic has worsened the shortage of nurses, causing a high demand for nurses globally. Among health care workers, nurses in particular have a higher risk of contracting Covid-19. It was also especially challenging for foreign nurses who missed their families due to Pandemic related travel restrictions, it was almost impossible to have their families by their side during this trying time.

On this day, Diaverum Singapore gift our nurses a small token of appreciation, which they can use to get together to celebrate the special occasion as a team.
