Diaverum Reinforces Importance of Public-Private Partnerships with Expanded Clinic Network in Singapore. The Company is establishing Singapore's First Private Dialysis Clinic in Housing Development Board Community Space

Singapore, 27 May 2023 – Diaverum, the Swedish-born, multinational healthcare organisation that provides life-enhancing renal care to patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) has today opened Singapore’s first-ever private dialysis centre in a Housing Development Board (HDB) community space.
The ceremony was officiated by Guest-of-Honour, Member of Parliament, Mr Liang Eng Hwa, while Diaverum was represented by Hervé Gourgouillon, Regional Vice-President for West Europe and Southeast Asia. Also in attendance were a number of the clinic’s patients, who began receiving treatment at the facility last month.
Located in the Fajar residential estate, Diaverum’s Fajar Dialysis Centre marks a significant milestone in Singapore’s healthcare landscape, reinforcing the importance of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in providing greater access to chronic disease care and management across the country.

About CKD
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a global and escalating challenge today affecting about 10% of the world’s adult population. It is primarily caused by lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, and its prevalence is increasing, particularly in developing countries and among low income individuals. In Singapore, over 5% of the population are affected by CKD, with a growing prevalence of diabetes from 8.2% in 2010 to 11.3% in 2020 according to the Ministry of Health. The same report highlighted the country’s growing concern over associated conditions such as cardiovascular disease and hypertension.
A new clinic providing a holistic, integrated treatment approach
The Fajar clinic is the latest addition to Diaverum’s network of clinics in Singapore, who first entered the country in November 2020. More specifically, the clinic is comprised of 13 fully equipped dialysis stations, where 7 staff will care for around 78 patients. In addition to haemodialysis, the clinic will offer services that cater to the complex needs of CKD patients, providing a holistic, integrated treatment approach that is centred around Diaverum’s proprietary care delivery model and continuously evolving digital infrastructure.
In total, Diaverum Singapore now has 83 staff caring for over 527 patients across 12 clinics, further solidifying its commitment to working with local healthcare authorities in providing life-enhancing renal care to CKD patients in the country.
